What's New on Your Affiliate Website?

Author: Karen Kari

A loyal following is essential for a successful affiliate site. But people are busy and they dont visit as often as both you and they might like. How can you make it easy for them to keep up with what youre doing and whats new? Create a special section on your site for the most recent news, a link to the latest blog entries, and a few products of the week, based upon the time of year, or activities site visitors do at that time.

While having new content is good for search engine ratings, it is essential for keeping the attention of your loyal site visitors. And highlighting it on your home page is a way for you to keep them coming back for a quick check. You could also offer an opt-in email newsletter highlighting the same Whats New items, with links to additional information.

Items you can include in a Whats New section:

Industry news and your take on how it affects your niche

Customer success stories

New products and exciting accessories for the ones they have now

Excerpts of articles they can read in detail when time permits

Hot news on people, software, the seasons newest fashion color whatever your visitors will take a few extra minutes to check in on.

A Whats New section wont get many people to your site if you havent invested in the entire structure and environment behind it, but it will go a long way to keeping the interest up and encouraging repeat visitors.
