Electronic Gift Ideas

Author: Philip Culver

When I buy gifts for special people, the first things I consider are electronic gifts. And why not? Everyone loves them and they come in a wide array of choices and designs. Some of my favorites include radios, computers, handheld games, cell phones, and the like.

Handheld devices are great and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age, background and gender. The LIB games are electronic gaming devices that are held in the hand. It's literally like having the prospect of a fun time right at your fingertips. Players can go on for hours and hours on these games. If you're waiting for someone, it's the ideal way to pass the time. No boredom here. On the other hand, there are also some games that have a learning or educational value to them, and these are the ones that are great for kids. Computers are always nice, but they are terribly expensive. But, of course, there are plenty of great deals around which may make the extra expense worth the sacrifice. Still, you have to think twice about gifts like this.

CD Players and VHS/VHR Players are another terrific option, especially since there are many affordable versions these days. If you have to choose, CD players are the way to go since VHS/VHR players are slowly being phased out and it's becoming more difficult to purchase movies for these systems. If you are shopping for a young girl, the BRATZ is a choice worth considering since it has its own personal twist and is designed in an attractive colorful light and exudes great style. Most players today have skip/in-line, LCD, and other features that will make it easy for the user to play music.

If it's children you're shopping for, then movies are probably the way to go. Today's CD players cost $29 and up and will offer the idea for a gift to those movie lovers. It's also a great deal more convenient to the person you are giving the gift to since the systems are easy to install and use.

For the older folk, who love music, a novel and fun-filled gift would be those old fashioned Boom Boxes. They may remind some of the original hand cranking sound machines and, in this case, nostalgia may not be a bad thing. Other good selections are phonographs, old radios and other systems which come with a CD music player and a radio.

In this day and age, you can't go wrong with software gifts, especially for those that who own a computer. It provides everyone with access to the latest array of software games, tools, virus programs, and more are available.

Kids and teenagers will love the latest video games as well as the latest movies available on VCD of DVD formats. Game systems, in particular, are cheaper than ever. Imagine, the PS2 Station that used to go for $300 is now an affordable $150. And if you'd like even bigger bargains, then go online to EBay, Amazon, auctions, newspapers, and posts are ideas for searching for the deals on gifts and shop to your heart's content.
