Washington, DC is often considering ways to prevent the number of homicides that occur in the area. The nation's capital is often considered murder city, as each week people are killed in and around Washington, DC. This of course is no secret to the area and yet it is very unfortunate because this is our nation's capital and surely we should be able to do better than this. It is an amazing situation at the heart of our nation has this problem and perhaps one could say the United States of America has heart disease. And unfortunately we are doing very little about it. Is this the best we can do?

Washington, DC, murder city and the nation's capital is one of the worst places for capital offenses in the country. This year in 2006 a police chief for Washington, DC has declared what is the equivalent of a state of emergency so that they can add additional policemen and extra hours. But even so has crime dropped; halve the number of deaths gone down? Only very slightly and it appears that it is out of control.

How can the Federal Government say it is in control of the nation when they work an operated within miles of the worst crime rates in the country? What is this saying to the American People? How can the government on one side say it is doing its job around the country, when in Washington DC the crime rates are so high? Consider all this in 2006.
