Tanning Salon Lotion

Author: Alison Cole

Tanning takes place when skin absorbs ultraviolet radiation. A substance known as melanin is produced by the skin, which darkens its outer layers. A tan is, in fact, a sign that the skin has been damaged. Tanning salon lotions are compounds and mechanical substances used to hide the freshness of the skin from harmful radiations of the sun.

Tanning salons function differently from outdoor tanning. These salons are intended to work faster, and they do not leave heavy layers on the skin. Tanning salons are becoming quite popular as they offer a unique experience. Many salons attract customers by offering facial services, aromatherapy, nail services, etc.

Most tanning salons have an array of lotions on sale, called tanning accelerators. These accelerators are meant to speed up the functioning of the ingredients of the moisturizing agents, thus helping the skin to stay healthy while in the process of tanning. They contain skin nutrients and components that actually quicken the process by encouraging the skins melanin production.

In general, the tanning process in a salon involves being in the chamber for a specified period of time. Tanning beds are skin friendly and are equipped with fans to keep the body cool. It is possible to control the type of ultraviolet light taken in by the skin. The light waves, which are the most harmful, are filtered out of the tanning bed lamps. Tanning salons usually provide stickers to be placed on the body in order to gauge the intensity of the tan. Eyes should be protected with safety glasses while using the tanning salon lotion. The glasses have to be sterilized after each use to prevent eye infection.

Some tanning salon lotions, such as the sunless one, allow the skin to get a tan minus the harmful drying effects of the sun. Skin that is not dry or flaky can maintain a tan longer. These lotions are very convenient and work extremely well. These lotions contain protective moisturizers to save the skin from damage, as in the tanning salon the rays are very intense in order to achieve a tan in a short time.

The use of tanning salon lotions is absolutely necessary in that moisturized skin tans better than dry skin.
