Can We Use Storm Water for a Car Wash and Never Hook Up to Any Water Supply?

Author: Lance Winslow

What if a car wash, which is generally a big user of water, never had to use any water at all? What if the carwash used rainwater on its property to fill up its storage tanks and then used that to wash the cars and recycled and re-used that water over and over again? Is that even possible? Well in some drought areas like the Middle East water is very pricey and in Australia with the long-term droughts a much needed innovation indeed.

Well we know we can collect the rainwater when it does come. Perhaps collect the rainwater during construction so once the car wash is built it would have its original supply ready to go. There are systems which can do this and a company out of Scottsdale AZ which makes a trap which goes into a storm drain to collect this storm water and filter it while as it passes thru. Sits right in the storm drain itself.

Then there are in Pollution Equipment News sump pumps with filters to take the water into a pre-filter storage system. After that you could easily run it thru a series of filters and then thru the RO Membranes once cleaned up. Sure this is all possible. This idea comes from an online think tank from fellow thinker; Paula Chavis. It is innovations like this, which can solve mankind's biggest challenges, so keep thinking out there of how we can build better mousetraps for the human race. Consider all this in 2006.
